Scrap Scrap Scrappin’

I am the biggest slacker as of late. Ok I’m not gonna lie, I pretty much have always been when it comes to starting projects and finishing within my own timeline. One of my bestest friends got married this summer in Vermont (as you probably already know from reading my previous posts) and I decided to make her a little scrapbook of some of her pictures, just to have as a memoir kinda deal. I got the idea after seeing Elise Blaha’s post where she used the Russell and Hazel mini binder and I loved it, so I wanted something similar. I started it almost right after we got back from VT, and planned on giving it to her within the next month…well 4 months later, I finally finished it.

WHO DOES THAT?? oh yea, me.

I gave it to her and her husband as a Christmas gift. It proved to be harder than it sounded in my head, but I was definitely happy with the outcome. Here are some pictures I took before I gave it to her. Her colors were orange, yellow, brown and creme. I started by cutting the pages to the appropriate size and sort of winged it from there…

All done! I was so relieved when she opened it and liked it. :)

other than that, I’ve been so stressed with school. It always seems like I have a love/hate relationship with the final week(s) before breaks. Christmas break, Spring break, Summer break. There’s always a finals week before that kills it for me. NEVERTHELESS I have a class tomorrow night and then I’m freeeeeeee. But for now, I need to get back to finishing some projects.

Only 8 days until Christmas!

So for the last hour I’ve been listening to the Fox News, about the 6 year old boy stuck in the balloon, just to find out there is no little boy in the balloon! Ugh, what gives?!! not that I wanted him to be in danger, but here they are making a big hoopla about the first grader flying around Colorado in a homemade balloon, and the darn balloon is empty all this time. bogus. I pray that he didn’t fall out though, that’s what they’re talking about now :/

So yea, dear blogosphere, I’m sorry for putting you on the backburner but hey, I got a life to live and you just aren’t a priority right now. My sincerest apologies…however, since I have some time, I’ll update you on my most recent productivity! I have to admit that I’ve been quite the little crafter this week. I made two different homemade fall garland, and a wreath. but that’s not all! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves… :)

So this is my new & way improved iPhone cozy. dun dadaduuuuun!

i love it. My iPhone fits perfectly in the cozy, which fits perfectly in my bag and I’m such a proud mama. After the first disaster, I mapped out my process much differently for the second round and I was determined! Even though it took me a good 2.5 hours. oh the dedication, indeed.

I think I’m going to make a bunch in various color schemes. This one is for fall [obviously]. it looks much like a candy corn, ha. Any ideas for colors?

oh, and I bought the OPI matte nail polish today in Metro Chic. (has anyone else heard about it?) I saw a review about the matte collection online and was interested, so I tried it out today. So far I like it, but we’ll see as the week goes on.

lazy Saturdays.

Last year, I made a cushy iPod Nano case for my nano, that I love. It turned out cute and it fit into my purse perfectly. see here (forgive the iphone pic.)

so I figured, why not? I’ll make an iPhone case out of some left over felt and save myself $20! Then I took it a step further and embroidery seemed like a reasonable option. Well, I [tried to] make an iPhone cozy for my phone today. I must say I wasn’t pleased, though I had the awesomest of intentions! haha. It was SUPPOSED to be a dandelion, and I had a lovely vision in my head, right? I’m going to try again I think. aaand I promise it will be a million times better, scouts honor?

HA! go ahead, say it. it looks more like mushroom/flower/ i don’t even know what to say.

but I will update, when i redo. LOL.

Although my cozy execution didn’t turn out, my awesomest [<— i’ve been using that word a lot lately.] friend Ashlan came over, I got a iced pumpkin spice latte and we got apples to make apple crisp (SO good.) then we watched Madea Goes to Jail (which I thought was hilarious. I’m a sucker for Tyler Perry movies!). perfection.

:)

Notebook Decoupage

A few months ago I started carrying a small notebook with me, because I have a terrible memory. And by terrible I mean almost worse than your grandma. I could kick myself, seriously. I'm always forgetting things, ideas, pretty much everything... so I write things down. Or if I hear something like a quote that I want to remember or an idea for a picture or craft, a to do list, blah blah blah, I write it down. It's nothing fancy, no $8 Moleskine, just a small pocket notebook for $1 at Joann Fabrics. I painted my last one, just to spruce it up a bit. For this one I wanted to use Mod Podge so I covered it with leftover scrap paper...and this is what I got.

I've grown to love Mod Podge, it's so useful for just about everything. This project literally took me MAYBE 20 minutes minus drying time. I also made an "M" last week, just a little sumthin sumthin for our ladder shelf in the living room...

So I encourage you to try it, you won't be able to put it down!

Oh Oh OH!!! and CONGRATULATIONS to my brother in law Seth and future sister in law Jess on their engagement this weekend! :) woot woot! So cute!
