Friday.

just a few images from a project I did for my Digital Darkroom 2 class. We had to use food and text in relation to a popular food cliche.

What do you think?

Jake just finished a few painting this week and I believe I heard him say that he wants me to share them on my blog so I'm sure you'll be seeing them too. :)

So how about I tell you about my day today, eh? So yesterday... I worked all day (and by "all day" I mean, from when I got home from Zumba at 10ish to like midnight) on a project due in today's class and was planning on printing them at Costco (they do 12x18 lightjet prints for $3, which is not too bad). I digress, I changed my mind this morning and decided just to buy semigloss photo paper (which was a way cheaper route) and print in the digital darkroom at my school and save the more expensive prints for an upcoming exhibition I'm in. So I did. I get to school this morning and start to print and they turned out so bad. The ink was blotchy and smudging in the corners, needless to say they were TERRIBLE. So a few of my classmates picked up extra paper since they were printing in the lab too, no big deal. THEN....dun dun dun... I see the color wheel of death on the computer, and it freezes! My disc (with all of my files on it) is stuck in the computer!! it took like 30 minutes to finally get it out, and I had to hurry up and print, luckily the prints turned out fine and I got a good critique, even though I was late to class. GUHH. luckily I have one more class and then I'm free for the weekend and I got to wear my rain boots today, yes!

I'll be back to update you on our trip. Procrastinator doesn't even begin to describe me these last few weeks...Hope everyone's friday is swell!

up and at em!

We woke up this morning and weren’t ready to just be home. So we decided to get dressed and hit the road once again…just for a few hours.

So we are taking and impromptu day trip to Orlando today, to visit a few stores in the Florida Mall and Lollicup (which we discovered on our former trip that I have yet to tell you about). Sure there are fun boba places around here…but nothing quite like Lollicup. aaaand I’m still editing pictures from the former trip…so once I find time to finish, you will have another picture heavy post. :) Plus I need need to gather some more images for a project that I’m doing in my Photo Essay & Narrative class. I’ll share that with you too, once it’s complete.

but I will leave you with some randoms from my iphone… (aka iphone frenzy):

Catch up (long post!)

so first off let me apologize for not blogging for almost a month. yes a MONTH. I’ve been extremely busy with school work, as most college students are this time of year, I guess. I also got sick last week, right before we went on our mini vacation…which was not fun. I was so worried we wouldn't be able to enjoy our trip, but my the grace of God I got better before last friday. :)

I have tons to share, but first I’ll back up and update you on our visit to the Florida State Fair earlier in February. Jacob and I love the fair. We have gone every year since the first year we dated and we will probably go every year to come. We never eat a lot of the food because honestly, some of it is just bizarre and ridiculously gross (even though Jake, my little bean pole, will try just about anything). We just usually walk around and pet the animals, go into the arts and crafts hall and this year we stopped and watched the little rodeo they had. Most of the time we ride the Ferris wheel but not this year, we would have frozen.

for those of you who don’t know, that’s Seth in the back. My brother in law.

Last week my sister in law and I hosted a table at our church for a little ladies party they were having and here is what we came up with (we didn’t make the cake, a lady at our church made a centerpiece cake for each table):
